Childcare Worker (Training to Become a Therapeutic Childcare Workers)

Prospero Health and Social Care are supporting an established residential childcare provider in Brighton who are looking for potential Children Support Workers across the greater Brighton area. This is a great opportunity to start a long-term career doing vital work with vulnerable children.

Location: Brighton, with requirements across the city including in education and in multiple residential homes caring for children with SEMH needs between the ages of 7 and 16 in a residential setting.

Salary: £21,673 – £27,800 per year (based on experience and number of sleep-ins completed per week). Sleep-in allowance: £60 per sleep-in.

Responsibilities:

  • Care for and support children and young people aged 7-16 in a residential setting
  • Engage in educational activities with the children and help them develop independence skills
  • Develop skills to become a Therapeutic Carer
  • Commit to a minimum of 2 years’ service

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of child care and development
  • Experience in encouraging children’s development
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Eagerness to become a Therapeutic Carer
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience with children and young people (desired)
